Questions
What is the best free logo API?
LogoAPI.sh, if you want a company logo in an img tag. 2M requests a month per site. Free. No key, no signup, no attribution, and the files are SVG. Pick Brandfetch or Logo.dev if you need brand colours, fonts, ticker lookup or a much bigger catalog.
Do I need an API key or an account?
No. Put https://logoapi.sh/stripe.com in an img tag. Logo.dev needs a publishable key in every URL, and Brandfetch needs a client ID on every request. Both need a free account.
What happens with a domain you don't have?
Every domain returns an image. The bare URL serves the logo, else the site's favicon, else a wordmark tile with the brand name. Add ?fallback=404 if you want a 404 and your own fallback.
Are the limits per site or per IP?
Burst limits are per IP: 150 requests per 10 seconds and 300 per minute. An img tag loads from each visitor's browser, so it counts against that visitor's own IP, and your frontend never shares one limit. If your server fetches logos for many users, cache them (responses send max-age=86400) or use Pro for high volume.
Can I use it in a commercial product?
Yes. Commercial use is included, with no attribution. Free. No key. No signup. No attribution.
